Design & Details
This gorgeous decorative pillow adds texture and style to any modern home, seamlessly adding flair to your contemporary space. Neutral grey background and white crackled "lunar" dot design with a solid grey back and envelope closure.
These throw pillows are from the "Tribal Cloth" collection, inspired by abstract African textile patterns.
Using the resist painting process (much like batik) the fabric is painted by hand with a porridge-like paste of maize, then laid out in the sun to dry. The fabric then gets painted by hand and baked in an industrial oven to reinforce the colors and prevent running when washed. After that, the dried maize porridge gets scraped off and the fabric is ready to become the lovely pillows that you see here! Made from 100% GMO free cotton fabric sourced in Africa.
While the design and technique are the same, each artisan has his own way of working making each piece unique in its own special way. They look great mixed and matched with the other ones in this collection!
